Governors

The Governing Body at Hawridge & Cholesbury CE School is made up of a range of volunteers from the community, teaching staff and parents who work together to ensure the best possible education for every child at the School.

School governors work as a team with Mrs Phillips and her staff, providing both support and challenge (often referred to as being a 'critical friend'). They are responsible for providing the strategic direction of the school and its targets in order to provide the optimum progress for all our pupils during their time at the School.  They set the School's aims and objectives with a view to promoting high standards of education and achievement.

Although the Governing Body bring a wealth of skills and experience to the Board from various sectors, they also undertake a period of training and have specific responsibilities.  Specific tasks may include appointing the Headteacher, setting staffing levels, setting and agreeing the school budget, and ensuring that a broad and balanced curriculum is delivered, as well as monitoring health and safety and the management of the premises.

Governors visit classes, attend school events that range from our Parent Forums to the French Café (run by our children)

To contact any of the governors please email or telephone the school office. Alternatively a letter can be forwarded to the Chair.
