Chiltern League

Hawridge & Cholesbury CE School are delighted to be part of the Chiltern League alongside 7 other local primary schools. The league provides an opportunity for Chesham Schools to compete against each other in a variety of sports over the year.  Currently, the league is open to children in Years 4, 5 & 6.  All matches are played on a Thursday straight after school and training for H&C takes place on a Wednesday after school.

Each half term, teams compete in a tournament, played at various sporting venues and schools in Chesham. Each tournament culminates in a Final at the end of the half term, where all the schools play their last matches to find the winner and runner-up of the relevant sport.

We are very proud of the excellent sportsmanship our children exhibit during these tournaments; finishing matches shaking hands with the opposition and offering support  to those who may need it.  Some of the matches are played at home and others are played away, allowing H&C children to visit and meet children from other local schools.

Parents are notified if their child has a place on the team (which is first come, first served) at the start of each half term and if the team is oversubscribed players will take it in turns to play the various  matches.  Parents are needed transport their children to away matches and are given full details once we have received the fixture list from the organisers.
