Extra Curricular Clubs

At Hawridge & Cholesbury CE School, our extra-curricular activities are an important element of how we support children to be Fascinated, Rounded, Eager to make a difference, Spiritual and have High aspirations (FRESH)They provide further opportunities for children to grow, flourish and ‘have life … more abundantly’.  We encourage all our children to take part in at least one club every week.   In addition children are given the opportunity to

  • build skills beyond the classroom, refining and broadening both academic and soft skills.

  • build on or find new life long hobbies and interests

  • increase their exercise

  • spend more social time with friends in a relaxed setting

  • increase their sense of belonging and community

  • develop their time management skills

  • boost their confidence.

Two morning supports clubs are run (Nessy and Phonics) and children are invited by their teacher to join these if there is a need.  These clubs are free of charge.

On a Friday morning EYFS and KS1 parents are invited to come into school with their children at 8.40an, where they can read with them in the classroom until 9am.
